Howdy and Greetings from Dallas! I was reading the rules post and an interesting question comes to my mind.
The clothing rules indicate no modern footwear. I personally have absolutely no problems with this! But one question does come to mind. If a player such as myself wants to go barefoot at an event, how suitable will the event site (if one has been selected) for a player to go barefoot when in character. I do have rope sandals, but I'm not 100% sure if they'd be safe enough to wear for LARP combat (I know they're suitable to wear at a renaissance faire or fantasy faire!).
Another question I have deals one of the other things in the dress category. It talks about how the Cimmerians are similar to the Vikings. In the other LARP that I play, NERO, my barbarian character can go into a psuedo-berserk state (not a game skill, just more furiousness in his fighting.). Normally, I play this by removing the vest my character wears and a little bit of chest pounding and growling. Is there going to be some form of rage-state that a player can utilize? If there is, and I get the opportunity to come down there from Dallas to play this facinating game, I will probably be doing the same thing, and pending discussion on how I do this, I might be able to take it a bit further (no, I won't strip down completly when I go into the rage state, that takes too long!)

Hello, and welcome! About the bare foot deal, most fields in Corpus are filled with stickerburs and would be hell on your feet if you are not used to it. But if you want to go bare foot or we ever find a place that doesn't have such horrid weeds then you most certainly can.
About the berserk rage I believe it would be ok if that is what your character would do, but you would have to ask Jerry.

Welcome to the site, Clon! Good to have you. Now we can get this stuff going. As far as bare feet go, for safety-sake, I'd be inclined to encourage sandals. There's lots of rocks and all sorts of other bad ju-ju that would wreak havoc on our feet. For a reference on Cimmerian people and culture, check here to get a relatively good idea. The Cimmerians (from the information the books/stories have relayed), are ferocious fighting people of the north. They're a large, dark-haired and hardened people who rarely travel outside their homeland, save for maybe two or three (Conan being the most notorious) people.
