Hyboria is filled with many cultures similar to those we're familiar with from history class at school. Greek, Roman, etc. Countries and cultures are listed in alphabetical order. To find your country, see the map or visit here for the full-size map.
Afghulistan
The Afghuli tribesmen are similar to the tribes and small villages of modern-day Afghanistan. Their armor and weaponry greatly resemble that of the Persian armies, as their culture is similar to the Middle East as we know it. The Afghuli are fierce, feudal pillagers and raiders who frequently raid Northern Vendhya for gold, spices, etc.
Aquilonia
Sometimes known as "The Flower of the West", Aquilonian architecture, armor, culture, weapons, etc. closely mirror those of the real world Greco-Romans. The religion of the Aquilonian people is based around the god Mitra, who's worshipers encompass nearly all of Hyboria.
Brythunia
Although Brythunians are scattered all throughout their land in small feudal city-states, their military maintains a very disciplined cavalry. The Brythunian people generally resemble Nordic Vikings and their women are highly sought-after by slave-traders.
Cimmeria
Cimmerians are a hard people. Most never leave their cold, dark and mountainous land save for a few souls here and there. No doubt to emulate Conan who hails from one of the clans to the North. Word of his adventures spread even to Cimmeria and some venture into the Hyborian lands by force (thanks to Vanir raiders or other factors) or meager curiosity. Cimmerian culture is similar to the Celtic tribes of Roman Gaul, particularly during the Gallic Wars of 58 BC-51 BC.
Pict
The Pict are the last of the truly uncivilized people in the Hyborian age. Pictish religion is based on animal gods, of which Jhebbal Sag sits on the highest tier. The best real-life representation of Pictish culture would be that of the ancient Mayan and/or Aztec civilizations. For good visual reference, the film Apocalypto is a must.
Vendhya
Vendhyan culture is similar to Hindu and Sikh (pronounced "Seek") cultures of modern-day India. There is a caste system in the Vendhyan culture. The ruler/scholar caste at the top with the Brahma just beneath them and so on. The Vendhyan people worship the god Asura, who is at the head of the Elder Gods of the Earth and Heavens and the Gods of the Other Worlds. A good reference for Vendhyan look would be the ancient Persian Empire, more than likely.
